Who can join AIPIA?
AIPIA is open to anyone working with artificial intelligence or planning to, anywhere in the world: developers, data scientists, project managers, consultants, researchers, teachers, students and entrepreneurs. No specific degree or technical qualification is required, a professional interest in AI is enough. Membership is individual and personal.
How much does it cost and what does it include?
The annual membership fee is €24. It includes the digital membership card, listing in the public directory of AI professionals visible to companies and recruiters, institutional representation at European level, the association's newsletter and communications, and voting rights in the assembly. It does not include the courses or the European credential (paid course plus exam), nor the liability insurance and partner deals, which are today reserved for members in Italy.
What is the European AI Credential?
The European AI Professional Credential is a digital credential in the official European Commission format (European Digital Credentials). It is signed with an eIDAS-compliant electronic seal, can be stored in your Europass wallet and is instantly verifiable by employers and institutions across the EU. AIPIA is the first AI association in Italy to award it. It is not included in the €24 membership fee: you obtain it by completing a paid AIPIA course and passing the final exam, the Base course leads to the Base credential (€249), the Advanced course to the Advanced credential (€399).
How do the courses work?
AIPIA runs two live online courses. Base: 8 hours over 4 live sessions, Base credential, €249. Advanced: 12 hours over 6 live sessions of 2 hours, Advanced credential, €399. Taking both unlocks the Complete Path with a €100 reduction (€548 instead of €648). Every contribution includes the lessons, the final exam (20 questions, 30 minutes, 70% pass mark, within 30 days of the end of the course) and the credential on passing; a second attempt within those 30 days is free. Courses, materials and the exam are in Italian; the calendar today lists no English editions. Courses are reserved for members: you can join AIPIA at the same time as enrolling. The annual credential renewal is optional and consists of a short test, at €19.
How does renewal work?
Membership runs for one year from the date you join. It renews automatically at €24/year using the same payment method. You can cancel at any time from your account, with no penalties, and keep access until the end of the paid period.
Do I get a receipt?
AIPIA provides a payment receipt for the membership contribution (the association operates under the Italian non-profit associative regime, with no VAT applied). Whether the fee is deductible depends on your country and situation: please check with your tax advisor.
Can I enrol my company?
Yes. AIPIA offers three corporate membership plans for teams of different sizes, including individual cards for each team member, access to the members' area, a mention in the companies section of the website and discounted training. Write to segreteria@aipia.it for details.
How do I appear in the public directory?
During checkout, keep the directory option ticked. Only your name, city and country, freelance availability and AIPIA credentials will be shown. Listing is completed within 5 days, and you can edit or remove your visibility at any time from your account.
